Sanganer is one of the important parts of Rajasthan even before Independence. This area was signified because of its Exotic and Royal art of Sanganer Printing or as we call it “Sanganeri Chappai”.
Sanganer has its own unique culture, cuisine, dressing style and geographic importance from the Rajputana era. Here, predominantly Textile and Paper production was rooted with assistance from the Royal Family of Jaipur. The “Pomcha” of Sanganer was a key piece of textile used by Royal Households that was manufactured here
As per the words of Sir George Watt in Indian Arts At Delhi (1902-03 A.D.) – he stated that “Sanganer must be considered as the textile capital of India because of its prominent artisans and crafting skills”.
By the end of the 20th century, the Sanganeri Printing Art has created its global impact. Now, countries across the globe, like – Europe, Japan, America, South Africa and many more imports our goods. People travel from the world to learn about the ancient art of hand block printing from families residing here.
